A beginner wheel throwing class that teaches foundational throwing and trimming skills.

Service Description
This beginner wheel throwing series includes 4 semi-private classes and provides a well-rounded introduction to wheel-throwing basics. You'll learn how to center your clay on the wheel and pull up the walls as you create cylinder-shaped vases and cups. You will also learn basic trimming skills and how to sculpt and attach handles to your pieces. With a limit of two students per class, you'll get an abundance of one on one attention from our wonderfully patient teacher, Natalie, who is a recent graduate from the College for Creative Studies. You will create between 1 and 3 completed pieces during this 4 week series, which will be fired in the kiln so you can return to glaze them in our glaze room at your convenience (any time during the studio's open hours). Then, your pieces will be fired for a second time, turning them into their final waterproof form. Series registration fee includes 4 classes, all clay and glaze materials, tools, bisque and glaze firings for completed pieces and instruction. *NOTE: This class is for adults and teens 16 and older.

Cancellation Policy
Planning and material costs require us to collect prepayment to reserve your spot. Cancellations made more than 1 week before the first scheduled class will receive a credit on account to use towards future Whimsy services of your choosing. Cancellations made within 1 week of the scheduled class will be non-refundable; however, if we are able to fill your spot from our waitlist, your registration fee will be placed on your account for future use. **If you have to miss one of the scheduled classes in the series, you will have the option to schedule a private makeup session with the class instructor at a mutually agreeable time for an additional fee.
