Service Description

In this homeschool pottery series, middle school artists will explore the magic of clay while building skills, confidence and one-of-a-kind creations. Over seven two-hour sessions, students will learn how to transform a lump of clay into functional and decorative pieces using handbuilding techniques like slab rolling, coiling, sculpting and more. Along the way, they’ll discover textures, experiment with glazing and get an inside look at the kiln process—watching their work evolve from soft clay to finished, fired art. Each class is designed to spark imagination while teaching foundational skills, giving students the freedom to create pieces that are uniquely their own in a welcoming, supportive studio environment. NOTE: *This series is for students from 6th to 8th grade. **As an Oxford Virtual Academy community partner, this course is fully funded by OVA for full-time and part-time OVA students. ***This series requires a minimum of 4 students. If there are less than 4 students registered for the course, it will be canceled and your registration fee will be refunded.
